Condolence: I am so sorry to be reading this. I just now found out. Dandy Don was a classic and I will miss his wit and humor. He did love his family very much and liked to boast about them all the time in a funny "Dandy Don" way. I extend to you my sincerest sympathy on your loss, he was a great guy and the world is a sadder place without him.

Condolence: Donnie, Ronnie and Maria, Debbie and families,
So sorry I could not make the funeral for your Dad, Don, Sr.
I am thinking of you all during this difficult time. Big Don was a great man to me, as well as your mother Joanna was to me-
they had big hearts for kids like me, back in the day. I will never forget them. Your father was well respected by many, you can be proud of his legacy.
In memory and in celebration of Don's life well-lived-of someone who made this world a brighter and better place.
May the days ahead bring you happy memories and God's peace.....
With Much Love and Blessings to You All,
George and Carlene Smith, Proctor, Vermont

Condolence: Deb and the Pettis family, my deepest condolences at the loss of your dad. I just heard this morning. It's difficult to lose a parent, but he'said home with your mom, and I can hear her calling him. I didn't know him very well, but he was funny, friendly and welcoming. God bless. Prayers and thoughts to you all. The memories keep you going in the difficult days. It doesn't get easier, just different.

Condolence: What did Readers’ Digest used to call it? The “Most Unforgettable Character??” That would be Don Pettis.

We moved to Acorn Street in 1968, and soon made the acquaintance of our neighbors, the Pettises. Early on, we heard Joanne calling for him from her door: “Hibberttttttttttt!” --and we called him Hibbert ever since.

He was a good guy, big hearted and generous. And Funny?? That guy was one of the funniest people EVER. In speaking on the phone recently with Debbie, I related to her one of his unique pronouncements that I recalled. Sorry I can’t write it here. Trust me; It was hilarious.

Millis just will not be the same without him. We send our sympathy to the family for the loss.
