Obituary for Milton Shaw
Milton P. SHAW, age 87, a long-time resident of Medfield, passed away peacefully on August 10th with his family at his side.
Milton was born in 1930 and raised in Norwood, MA. He attended Norfolk Country Agricultural High School and then served time in the Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Milton worked at Metropolitan Machine in Medfield, MA for over 40 years.
Milton had a love of people and their stories, as he approached everyone with happiness, kindness, and compassion. He was known for always offering a helping hand by repairing something, and was often spotted driving his lawnmower down the road to cut the neighbors’ lawns in his Medfield neighborhood. Milton loved traveling, especially with his wife, Carol and together, they visited 85 countries and every US state except one. He had a passion for life, he loved being active, and was still biking and kayaking at the age of 87. He loved sailing, boats, and the ocean. Milt especially loved entertaining family and friends in his condo in Florida overlooking the marina with a glass of wine along with some cheese and crackers.
Milton was married to his sweetie, Carol, for 54 years, and she predeceased him in 2015. He was the cherished father of Karen Shaw of Franklin and Jeff Shaw of Stow and wife Helen, as well as his grandchildren, Will and Abby Shaw. His many nieces and nephews hold a special place in his heart as he does in theirs.
A celebration of his life will be held at his house in Medfield on September 10th.
