Elizabeth Murray (Frulla)
E. Gloria "Dolly" Murray died peacefully on January 18, 2018 at the Riverbend Skilled Nursing
Facility in South Natick, MA. She was 89.
She was born in Lenox, MA on July 20, 1928, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose
(Serafini) Frulla. Gloria was raised and educated in Lee and graduated from Lee High School in
1946 and later on from Berkshire Business School.
Gloria was the widow of Edward F. Murray who passed away on February 22, 1993. They were
married on August 20, 1952 at St. Mary’s Church in Lee where they raised their three children.
She volunteered her time as a Girl Scout leader and with Meals on Wheels. She also worked in
the cafeteria at St. Mary’s School and later on at Lee High School. Gloria was an avid golfer
and for many years was a member of Greenock Country Club in Lee where she had a hole in
one. For the last 15 years she lived in Medfield, MA to be closer to her daughter where she
enjoyed being actively involved with the town’s Council on Aging. She was a parishioner of St.
Edward the Confessor Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother and took pride in her home. She is the cherished mother of
Barbara Kendrick and her husband Jack of Medfield, William “Bill” Murray of New Jersey and
Brian Murray and his wife Lauri of North Andover along with her grandsons Jay Kendrick of
South Boston and Sam Murray of North Andover. She is the aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt,
great-great-great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brothers Mario, Tony and George Frulla and her sisters Clara
Streeter and Flora Arment.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 22 at 10:00 at St. Edward the Confessor
Church, 133 Spring St., Medfield. Calling hours will be held from 8:30 - 9:30 prior to the funeral mass at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller St., Medfield. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lee at 11:00 on Tuesday preceded by visiting hrs from 9:30-10:30 at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St, Lee, MA 01238.
