Carol (Faber) Ryan, 86, of Medfield, beloved wife of the late Warren J. Ryan, Jr., died peacefully Saturday January 20, 2018 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood.
Carol was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on January 18, 1932, the daughter of the late Charles F. And Marjorie (Hayes) Faber. She was a 1954 graduate of Regis College and earned a master’s degree at Framingham State College in 1956.
Carol worked for 30 years as a Home Economist in UMass Extension’s Norfolk County Office. A passionate educator, she received several Performance in Excellence Awards from the National Association of Extension Home Economists.
A resident of Medfield for over 50 years, she was an active and devoted member of the community. She was very involved in St. Edward Parish serving as CCD teacher, lector, and as a member of the Parish Council and Liturgy Committee.
Carol will be remembered for her generous and kind spirit, always helping others and educating them to help them live their best lives. She was loved by all and will be missed tremendously.
Carol is survived by her devoted and beloved son Warren "Jay" Ryan III, of Medfield: her cherished brother Charles F. Faber and his wife Barbara of Arlington, TX. She is also survived by her five godchildren: Larry Scott, of Wellesley, MA; Denise Coveney Prior of Watertown, MA; Kathleen Byrne of Maryland; Linda McCall Parkins of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA; and Karen Faber Humphries of Fort Worth, Texas.
The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday January 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St, Medfield. Burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington, MA.
