Patricia Ann (Taylor) Keaney,81, Hampton Beach, NH, former longtime resident of Millis, passed away on October 10 due to complications from multiple myeloma. Daughter of Alice Brazell Taylor and Arthur S. Taylor, she was raised in Fitchburg. In 1961, Pat received her BA in Education from Boston College. She would later earn a Master’s degree from Cambridge College. She married Frank Keaney, a fellow Eagle, in 1961. He predeceased her in 1995. Pat is survived by her children, Ellen (Richard) Kallman, Ipswich, Christopher Keaney, Hampton Beach, Maura Shoulkin, Wellesley, and Stephen (Danielle) Keaney, Seabrook Beach. Pat was devoted to her beloved grandchildren and was very proud of the young adults they had become: ElsaTaylor Kallman, Adam Francis Shoulkin, Lilly Frances Kallman and Kyle Marcus Shoulkin. She loved her grand-dogs, Otis and Skipper. Pat also leaves her sister, Jayne (Ted) Taraski, and nieces Jessica, Rachel, Rebecca and their families, who she was very close to, along with other extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur and Mary. Pat was a highly-regarded teacher in the Millis Public Schools for over thirty-two years, influencing hundreds of elementary school students, and providing educational leadership to the district’s Title I programs. She was a devoted Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots fan, and loved to travel with family and friends. A devout Catholic, Pat was an active volunteer in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, where she proudly served as Secretary on the Board of Directors. A 2019 trip to Ireland, including visits to Dublin, Galway, County Meath and the Cliffs of Moher, was a highlight of her 80th birthday celebrations. Pat’s Hampton Beach porch served as the neighborhood gathering spot for daily news, afternoon drinks and snacks. No one could pass by without a “Hello” or an invitation to join the crowd. The Nudd Avenue 4thof July parade that she founded more than twenty years ago will not be the same without her. God’s finger touched her and she slept. No doubt that Frank, and her best friend, Betty Burke, will welcome her with open arms to travel the heavens. Due to the pandemic, a graveside service will be held Friday, October 16 at 12:00 pm at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Millis. A celebration of her life will also be held at Hampton Beach next year. Arrangements by Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are welcome to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842, Dr. Robert Brown, UMass ALS Cellucci Fund, UMass Medical School, Office of Advancement, 333 South Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 or the Multiple Myeloma Research Fund, Mass General Hospital, Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.

I was so saddened to hear that Pat had passed away. She was a cheerful, fun member of our 1750 Beacon Street BC dorm. I have fond memories of her wonderful Mother who hosted me one summer while I worked at the Hampton Beach Casino. Please know that she will be much missed.

My heartfelt sympathy to Pat’s family. It was a privilege to be dorm-mates at 1750 Beacon St. for our 4 years at BC. During our almost 60 years since graduation, it was always a pleasure to spend time with Pat at BC and 1750 reunions. I will certainly miss her, but feel sure she is enjoying the eternal reward of a life well-lived ! MaryAnn DiMario Landry BC ‘61
